Course Description
This course will provide the latest diagnostic and treatment strategies for cervicitis and pelvic inflammatory disease, review recommendations for routine screening using state-of-the-art diagnostic tests, and describe innovations in strategies to reduce reinfection including expedited partner therapy.
Course Objectives
At the conclusion, participants will be able to:
- Describe diagnostic and treatment options for the management of cervicitis.
- Discuss non-fluoroquinolone treatment regimens for gonorrhea and PID.
- Describe 2 strategies for partner management of chlamydia and gonorrhea.

This is an activity offered by the California Family Health Council, Inc., a CMA-accredited provider. Physicians attending this program can earn up to 1.5 contact hours of Category I credits toward the California Medical Association’s Certification in Continuing Medical Education and the American Medical Association’s Physician's Recognition Award. The American Academy of Physician Assistants and the American College of Nurse Midwives accept Category I CME approval.
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP 12241 for up to 1.8 contact hours.
CFHC is designated as a provider of Category I continuing education contact hours in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Health Educators attending this program may report up to 1.5 Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) contact hours.
The California Family Health Council, Inc., provider number PCE3165, is an approved provider of continuing education for MFT and LCSW licensure requirements in California. Course meets the qualifications for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit for MFCCs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
